Hello, internet.
This is Elyna speaking. On the internet, I'm more known as Lynn, and among Radhii and Nenek, my genderbent version is called Eli. Call me whichever you're most comfortable using. if you know me in real life in any way though please try sticking to Elyna thanks.
I am the 'youngest' and most 'inexperienced' among the writers of this blog, but since I designed the blog I shall begin the intro post. I am a graphic design student, and I'm not very familiar with prospects of this subject since the vastness varies between universities. You might have noticed but I'm more of a writer than an artist, but I love art in all forms all the same, including literature and performance arts (well, watching it).
My experiences in art include sketching (realism and semi-realism is sort of my style right now but I started off with manga style) and I'm still learning with digital art. I hate coloring traditionally but the texture of paper when touched with pencil is ecstasy to me. Doodling when my thoughts are astray seems to be a habit. my illustrations are highly influenced by Korean idols and style.
I will be mostly posting experiences about trying new things and learning as a graphic student in INTEC, including figuring out template codes without 3-inch thick books and trying new brushes and color pallets on SAI. I'm quite a sullen person unless I start talking about something I'm interested about (which includes things that might bore you; sorry about that) so please forgive my boring writing style!! when it gets casual I can be considerably humorous though, so please anticipate that!
And that's all, reporting from my bed, 11:22pm, first of September 2014! Elyna, Out!
Radhii, speaking! It took me a while to post my own intro, so I'm going to go all-out! Radhiah Ibrahim is my "official" name, Radhiah is my "usual" name, Radhii is my "pet" name, and Haidar is my the name of my "genderbent self."
In terms of art (in all its vastness), I'm only experienced in a tiny spec of it. I began drawing (seriously) at the age of 12 with our handy-dandy columned elementary school books, which I've used to make a comic called Idiotic Impulse. I started drawing digitally in 2011, and have continued to do so til' this day. I also post most of my art online on Twitter and Tumblr (with the user name Toddintops)! Mind you that as much as I am able to draw, COLOURING IS A HUGE CHALLENGE FOR ME... But! I am working on it, and will never give up until I can!
In this blog, I'll be covering multiple fields! My specialty being reviews, particularly reviews on events (because I am a convention junkie--)! But, I will also aid Elyna and Nenek with anecdotes and tips or tricks of my own (if Nenek hasn't covered them all already...)! At the end of each of my posts, I'll share with you a recent artwork/doodle of mine, just so I can keep track of my progress and so you can grow with me as well! I really do hope you'll enjoy our blog, it's super fun to write in, so I hope it'll be super fun to read, too!
So, that's all there is from me! Until next time, do take care, and have a nice day!
Woop~ Hello and welcome to the “get-to-know-you-bloggers” section of this blog.
I’m probably the last person to submit my bio but whatever.
So, my name is Nur Atiqah binti Hassan but you can just call me Nenek. Yes, I’m that Nenek Harmoni and yes, I’m a woman so stop asking about my gender and look in my damn profile. [You lazy ass bums..] Also, my genderbent self/human/creature is called Atif [some of you might have seen him somewhere on the internet, goofing around and being dumb.]
I’m also the creator of Haidar, Eli and Atif .
So yeah, I started drawing seriously when I was 12 and I started with comics mostly. Now I think I have about more than 20 comics created [only 1 is completed though.. *sweats*]. I got serious in drawing because of a friend of mine who also loves to draw. [Unfortunately, he quit drawing as we grew up and that is sad..]
After I got my own tablet on the 25th of December 2011, I went digital and crazy-mass-producing artworks since then. I also gain lots of friends and I’m glad to have them so I guess it’s a great life as an artist.
Enough about my background, I’m going to talk about what I do in this blog. Technically, I just draw tutorials and make tips on how to draw something or how to get inspirations. I think that’s all that I can do because I don’t have any other talent except for drawing..so yea~
BLOG: a thirst for adventure.

It was Deepavali Eve (people rarely use that term, don't they?) when I had a thought about how we're at our prime years and yet we sit around worrying about assignments and GPA points. It wasn't the way to live, but it was the cost of ensuring a bright future for ourselves.
The next (late) morning, I asked Nadhrah Izmi, a good friend of mine from back in school (and now in INTEC too, doing A-Levels in pure science) if she wanted to go out for lunch. I suggested we go somewhere new, since we had a bit more time than usual to spend. She agreed, and so we met up for late lunch.
We got a taxi from Petronas Section 18 to Plaza Alam Sentral. At that point, I was aiming some small stall I read about in a blog but wasn't sure was still alive. When we got there, it was evident that the basement area in Alam Sentral had been used up by The Store. We looked around some more for something to eat but there weren't much, so we walked (with umbrella in hand - how practical were we?) to SACC and finally ate at Noodle Station. It definitely wasn't new to me, but Nadhrah had fun picking out a drink - they had fancy choices. She chose "Ice Age" in which when I asked if it brought her back in time she said "Yeah, I'm seeing pterodactyls."
I told Nadhrah about how I watched a video by StillNotDavid on YouTube about how he hates being 23. It basically said that after 25, you don't have much to expect from life. I said "If I knew that my future was bleak, I would be spending my days just living it to the fullest, not having to worry about a future." She mentioned how she wonders, if we were gonna die in 2 years would we be living our lives to the fullest? It still lingers in my mind now.
We then moved on to buying cookies and going to PKNS. I've been there to buy clothes and scarves with my mom and I guess that was all it had. We didn't stay long before we found the next interesting thing - a park! With a lake! And swan paddle boats! So as we crossed the road Nadhrah was like "I knew this was gonna be an adventure!!" and I suddenly felt like I was part of a movie. #moviemoment . We took pictures, making our way to the station (??) where they kept all the canoes and paddle boats, all the while contemplating whether we should rent a boat or not. Of course, the lake was a nice place to take pictures, what with the scenery and readily available props ie old buildings and frames. It brought out Nadhrah's inner photographer instincts.

Much necessary selfie.

After passing by the cafe and playground, we decided to have a drink while still thinking about the paddle boats. Suddenly we remembered that we planned to go to Laman Seni Section 7 and it was definitely great weather to go, so all thoughts of paddle-boating canceled, we quickly finished up our drinks and looked for a taxi at PKNS. The driver we got wasn't really sure of the place but after listening to his colleague explain where it was he looked pretty determined to send us. Unluckily, we got on the wrong side of Section 7 and paid a huge amount to the driver haih. But, it was worth it. The first art at the beginning of the lane was magnificent.

"Break Society's Mirror, Use Your Own"
|
At first we were only taking pictures of each other, not knowing how was it possible to have a picture together (both being somewhat introverted), until someone asked us to take a picture of them and we were like oh okay, we can do that haha. So we did, in a few pictures. It was amazing how these people could make all these beautiful things in an alleyway, with mere paint. The nature murals were especially fascinating, with all the details put into every inch. The eye-illusion art were cute too, and others were really dramatic, and I'm guessing those had more personal artistic values. My personal favorite had to be the Behind The Scenes of MBSA though. They weren't picturesque in the sense to take pictures with, but rather just to have a nice overlook of what is and what could be. The details put into that was superb, too - I especially liked the choice of colors. Very groovy-cyberpunk-ish.

Later we had early dinner at Pappa Rich and went back home. Note-to-self: Pappa Rich would be an awesome place to have breakfast. The choices of bread dishes looked scrumptious. Of course, one can only have so much in one dining when you're holding a student budget. More adventures? Yea, kinda. We used the MyTeksi app to get ourselves back home, and the driver we got didn't get the clue that WE were the customers when he arrived. Literally had to run after the taxi. The hell?? Oh well. Experience. When we got back to Akasia we parted ways. And I guess the adventure ended when we drove into comfort zone - Section 18.
Life can be funny. Sometimes you expect an adventure and you don't get one. Sometimes you expect a well planned journey and instead you're surprised with inconveniences. Sometimes you'll find pleasure in the simpler things in life - like paddling boats or walking down an empty lane. If you find a chance at adventure, with a friend and a prayer, walk into it. You'll never know what you'll get. We are, after all, living the prime years of our lives.

REVIEW: Les Copaque's PUTERI Trailer
Wednesday, 22 October 2014 @ 22:02
Salutations, friends!
When you hear the word "
princess," you're more likely than not to think of our all-time favourite Disney heroines, and the like. We've been brought with these princesses as our mentors and guides, showing us the true meaning of
GIRL POWER! But, for Malaysia's current young ones, they might even get their own homegrown princesses!
Introducing Les' Copaque's new project; PUTERI.
(Sorry for the candid photo, Princesses...)
After their huge success with Upin and Ipin, Les' Copaque is currently venturing out with a different genre and released a trailer for this new series not too long ago. The trailer features short clips and snippets of each of the five princesses of the Limau (Malay for lime) Kingdom!
We get to witness each of the princesses' dynamic personalities, paired with amazing animation and an equally easy-listening soundtrack. The first princess featured was Manis, who eerily reminds me of Dato' Siti Nurhaliza in some ways... Second princess featured was Kasturi, the badass whom I know I'll like already (she uses a keris as a weapon, how awesome is that!) Afterwards, we have Bali, the cutest one in my opinion. After Bali, we have my favourite designed princess of them all, Purut, a shy and timid-looking princess and lastly, we have Nipis, the tiny cute little princess who wields a whip.
The animation shown in the short clip showed tremendous improvements from their last projects, with immense amounts of detailed and effort put in. The cinematography also improved, making the action scene with Kasturi and Purut more entertaining and left me impressed. I sincerely hope the whole series would keep the quality of the trailer in its core, for that was what attracted me to it the most. So far, they've launched events and uploaded production diaries to give viewers an inside look into the project, and has just recently put up a specific trailer for who I assume the main princess is, Manis.
Do check the trailer and videos out, and prepare yourself to be amazed! It may not be jaw-dropping, but I am proud to see the animation industry grow.
Plus, badass princesses who fight forces of evil!
Check it out at Les' Copaque's official Youtube channel:

Until the next post, see you later!
(Here's a work-in-progress of the authors! Can you guess which one is me? Heh!)

TUTORIALS: Basics to Customized Templates
Sunday, 19 October 2014 @ 19:28
Recently a classmate asked about how I use templates because she finds it hard to understand the codes. I was actually anticipating this - even if my classmate hadn't asked I was planning to pretend a lot of people inquired me about it and teach you guys because 'you asked for it'. Just pretend that's true, okay?
Since you guys asked for it, here it is.
TIPS IN USING CUSTOMIZED TEMPLATES
(specifically for Blogger)
1. Where do I even find these template codes???
Well my friend, Google is a wonderful place. Googling "Blogger templates" would probably bring you to a good source. My favorite though has to be blogskins.com. Most of the designers here are actually teenage Singaporean girls honestly and some templates are pretty outdated, but due to it's minimalistic properties, they're still quite fashionable and easy to customize. They provide tags too, so you can look up "black" or "green" or "ribbons" or "kpop". Yes, kpop. Templates dedicated to oppas.
2. How do I customize the codes?
It's pretty simple, really. JavaScript are mainly structured by characters <> with words that customizes how something works or look like put in between, and the customization is broken with a slash; </>. For example, if I wanted to bold a phrase I would put < b> *insert phrase * < /b> (delete the spaces). For italic-ing, you replace the 'b' with an 'i' and to scratch you put 'strike', if you want to underline it's 'u'. Other instructions include font, font size, paragraphing (using br) and color. If you Google it up, you'll probably find a lot of tips and tricks on it.
Another easy way to customize things like the words on your header or on the navigation bar is to read the codes carefully. Often times, they're painfully obvious where the words are unless they're like a specific letter or word only, then you'll have to find a pattern that they use for every navigation page's section of the codes. Trust me, if you can find the pattern, chance is you can probably rearrange the navigation bar to you own liking. For example, the title of the blog (the one that appears on the tab) was on the 3rd line of the code, like this:
< title>Tricks to Aesthetics< /title>
Sizes of certain things are determined by 'px's. Yes, the letters px with numbers before it. It can get confusing but a lot of trial and error will really help. There's no use to customizing something using an alien language if you're not willing to have it look ugly for 5 minutes. These are particularly useful to customize positions of items like hovering navigation bars and don't want it to look awkward where ever it was. If you have a picture or widgets to add-on, this will help too.
Oh and about widgets, like cursors or snowflakes or music players, a lot of those are found above the
< /style> part of the code, if you're planning to customize the already given one. Otherwise, most add-ons have instructions along the codes so be adventurous and try it all out!
3. How do I add...?
Let's start with basics; pictures. The basic code is
< img src="insert url of picture" title="insert words that will appear as you hover" width="***" height="***">
This is what I usually use to add pictures from websites. I have a page on my tumblr where I specifically just put icons and stuff like that I can use to decorate blogs and such. The fact that these pictures never disappear unless I delete the post is why it's so convenient. Other places that you can use is flickr and tinypic. You can see as you browse through templates on blogskins the amount of blogs where the pictures aren't available - this is due to the owner of the pictures deleting these pictures and making them unavailable on the net anymore.
You change the options to this code by deleting the "
title=blablabla" section (if you don't want words to appear when you hover) and deleting the width & height part if you want to use the default size.
An example of adding a picture through codes:
I'll cut through the basic stuff and talk about added stuff like the chat box and the music player. The chat box is pretty simple - you go to cbox.com and customize your chat box there after signing up. You can adjust the size through adjusting the numbers after 'width' and 'height', just like the picture. They have two options though; one for the chat display and the other for chat form.
A lot of background music of blogs I've found doesn't have the play or pause or stop buttons, and some aren't that fancy. I think resources are very important, and I usually use widgets for my Tumblr so that helped me find a nice looking music player (not those from the MySpace days).
Here's the trick: Tumblr and Blogger both use JavaScript a.k.a HTML coding so anything made for Tumblr can be used for Blogger. The music tab above was actually made for Tumblr users, but it came in handy when I thought of adding music to our blog.
Another tip: most music players have the option "autoplay" readily made as an option, but if it turns out yours doesn't, looked for the '
autoplay=false ' part of the code and change the '
false' part to '
true'; vice versa.
---
I can't post everything on this one blog post, but I hope that cleared a few things for you about customizing templates! There's a lot of customizing you can do, and all you have to do is explore a little and read codes like reading a book. Always have a back up code just in case and make small changes one at a time instead of big ones. If you have any questions, do hit me up at the chat box and I'll try to help. Also, remember that Google is your friend! A lot of things that I've learned also came from Googling stuff ha-ha so do a lot of exploring.
There's a lot of things you can learn in this world, just waiting for you to discover it. Quoting an unnie I know, a lot of reading will help you gain a lot of useless information.

HOME MADE ART TIPS FROM NENEK 2
@ 01:17
HOME MADE ART TIPS FROM NENEK~
[here comes another LONG one..ughh..]
Listen up my grandchildren. Cause today, I'm going to give you some tips on how to draw
MANLY MEN.
1) Chiseled square jaw/strong jaw and square chin. You need them. Yes.
If they are not as square as Spongebob Squarepants, you're doing it wrong.
[why? :
Look at freaking Brad Pitt or Arnold Schwarzenegger. They are manly. yes. ]
2) Thick neck and broad shoudlers. Ooo yes~ and the Superman inverted triangle shape of the abdomen.
You'll be using that A LOT if you want them manly hot bodies.
[why? :
Ever read Fist of the North Star? Toriko perhaps? or maybe Dragonball if you're not well acquainted with the first two. So.. what does the characters' bodies look like? yes. MANLY AS HELL.]
3) Abs and muscles..well.. I dunno if it's a must have [it is a must have, actually, IMHO]
in every manly men but having them makes them manlier. SO PRACTICE ON THEM, NO BUTS!
[why? :
Dude, what's the point of having a manly head but a skinny body? It will not be a 100% manly man cause it's just gonna be a manly head with a lame body.]
4) Thick eyebrows, strong nose and soul piercing eyes. You know what to do here.
[why? :
Like I said, manly men needs manly faces. Put in some scars or something so he doesn't look like a wimp.]
5) HAIRS AND FACIAL HAIRS~ PATCHES OF FURS ALIKE~!
[why? :
Dude. Manly men ain't no babies anymore. Give them some facial hair or chest hairs for more manliness. KEEP THEM TESTOSTERONE RUNNING~!]
6) Strong-ass personalities.
Give them that and you're ready to go for an adventure with your new manly as hell character~
[why? :
Outer appearances ain't everything my grandchildren. The inside counts too. It's what on the inside that brings out what's on the outside.]
CONCLUSION :
So yea. Strong personalities for a man. That's what makes men, A man.
Sure, you look manly as hell with an awesome body built like these above BUT
No matter what size, what your character looks like, if they have the qualities of a manly man in his personalities, he's a manly man already.
Happy reading ya'll.
